Description | The Woman's Fair and Exhibition held at the Olympia from 2 - 26 November 1938 incorporated a 'Hall of Achievement' in which a large number of women's organisations and associations were represented. They had stalls promoting the achievements of women in industry, leisure, sport, charitable events, artistic and political spheres of life. The NUWT were one of the exhibitors in the Hall of Achievement and their programme involved demonstrations of teaching and a lantern slide talk on activities in a junior school. Their 'Equal Pay for Equal Work' campaign was a central part of their programme.
Correspondence between Ethel Froud and A. Muriel Pierotti (NUWT), Marion Ffrench (Insurance Secretary for the NUWT) and other NUWT members, various women's organisations and individual women including Vera Brittain, Ellen Wilkinson, Mabel Tate and Amy Johnson, and the Organising Officer for the Woman's Fair and Exhibition regarding the NUWT Campaign on Equal Pay conducted at the Women's Fair and Exhibition held at the Olympia from 2 - 26 November 1938. The campaign included an equal pay stall, a register they were asking everyone to sign in support of equal pay, lectures, and NUWT members manning the stall being prepared to talk to people about the benefits of equal pay.
