Description | Correspondence and papers regarding 'pink forms' issued by the West Ham Town Clerk which required women teachers in the district to state their marriage status and give details pertaining to this. The NUWT challenged this but were unsuccessful and in November 1931 conceded that they would have to return the forms, under protest. The correspondence covers: Attempts by the NUWT Legal and Tenure Committee to get West Ham Council to agree to meeting a deputation on the question of married women teachers Letters sent from the Town Clerk to women teachers in West Ham who have not returned the 'pink forms' threatening to report them if they fail to do so NUWT attempts to gain support from Local Councillors and MPs
