Description | Correspondence and papers regarding the legal cases of Clara Dawson Follett and Mrs Willsher, whose husband's were taken to court for lack of payment of income tax in relation to their wife's earnings as school teachers. Both couples decided together to fight this ruling to try and set a precedent for the separation of a wife's earnings from her husband's. The correspondence covers: NUWT donation towards the costs of the bankruptcy proceedings against Mr Follett Thanks from Clara Follett for the support the NUWT gave her and her husband Advice and support offered to the defendants from the Legal and Tenure Committee and Lamartine Yates & Morgan Solicitors |
