Situation in Swansea, 1954, where married women teachers, although in continuous employment were classed as temporary workers
Practice of many Local Education Authorities of dismissing married women teachers, then re-employing them on a supply basis to deal with the shortage of teachers during the Second World War - reports from members of where this is occurring and NUWT protests against this
Letters of support for NUWT work to remove the marriage bar
Requests for support and advice from individual teachers who have been dismissed or threatened with dismissal due to marriage
Support for the rights of married women teachers to work - from members and from other individuals and organisations including the Association of Assistant Headmistresses
Reports of deputations from the NUWT and other organisations including the National Union of Societies for Equal Citizenship to the Prime Minister on the subject of the rights of married women teachers to work
Criticism by a member, Miss N. C. Morrison of views she felt were implicit in a speech given by Agnes Dawson regarding the 'worth' of unmarried women in comparison with married women
