Description | Correspondence between Ethel Froud and A. Muriel Pierotti (NUWT), Equal Rights International and NUWT members regarding the Status of Women Sub-Committee of the NCW (sometimes just referred to as the Status of Women Committee), which was formed to report to the League of Nations Status of Women Committee. The correspondence covers: Criticisms of the appointment of a man as the British representative on the Status of Women Committee Arrangements for meetings of the Status of Women Committee Letter of thanks from the organisers of the Status of Women Day, held at University College, London in 1938, to Muriel Pierotti for her help Leaflets giving information on the 'Status of Women Day' organised to focus attention on the League of Nations Enquiry into the Status of Women Minutes of meetings of the Status of Women Committee
Reports including: 'Memorandum submitted to H.M. Government by the Special Committee of Women's Organisations convened by the National Council of Women of Great Britain', September 1936 'The position of women in the civil service' 'Statement re. the position of women in Local Government', sent to the Status of Women Committee, NCW, by Bertha Mason Draft copy, with notes, on 'Women in Education' to be submitted by the NUWT
NB. The NCW Status of Women Sub-Committee was formed in order to draw up a memorandum to present to the Government on the question of the status of women in Britain (in response to a League of Nations resolution on the status of women). Ethel Froud was the NUWT representative on this committee. |
