Description | Correspondence with Ian Michael, a member of the ENEF, mostly regarding his views that the work of the NEF needed to change. Most of the correspondence dates from when Michael was Headmaster of Leighton Park Junior School Reading. Includes a copy of 'Scheme - an account of an experimental term's work at Leighton Park Junior School, September to December 1947' being a report on the school's experiment to teach across subjects to emphasise links, to provide opportunities for more intensive study on one piece of work, to increase co-operation across the whole school, to see whether a more active approach to learning was possible without losing academic standards, to increase group work, and 'to embark on a large scale project just to see what happened'. |
