AdminHistoryKeith R Robinson was at one time Inspector for the Historical Monuments Commission of Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe), and later an honorary member of the staff of the National Museum of Rhodesia at Bulawayo.

Wheeler became a Fellow of the British Academy in 1941. In 1949 he was elected its Secretary, from which post he retired in 1968.
