AdminHistory | The Sir Israel Gollancz Lectures at the British Academy were endowed by Mrs Frida Mond in 1924. This biennial lecture deals with "Old English or Early English Language and Literature, or a philological subject connected with the history of English, more particularly during the early periods of the language, or cognate subjects, or some textual study and interpretation". The lecture series was subsequently named after Sir Israel Gollancz (Secretary of the Academy 1902-1930). |
