Description | Issues of the Woodcraft Folk magazine/newsletter 'Herald of the Folk', containing reports of Althing and other events, news of upcoming events, articles, opinion pieces, book reviews.
These editions consist of: - The printed individual magazine for the first edition of 'Herald of the Folk', March 1927, when it had the subtitle 'Quarterly Review of the Cooperative Woodcraft Fellowship'. This issue contains articles on Woodcraft beliefs, lyrics and music for songs, as well as an advertisement for the next issue in June 1927. This issue has a colour front page. - Two indexed folders of 'New Issues': typescript loose pages for Issues 1-20, March 1929 to February 1931, during which time it was issued monthly. These loose pages have been indexed by subject, at the start of each folder. These folders also include a 'R.A.C.S. Woodcraft Fellowship Council Supplement' from 'Comradeship And The Wheatsheaf', September 1930.
There are also two further folders of typescript loose pages, which contain the following issues: - 'Herald of the Folk' 1931 - issues from May, Jun, Oct, Nov, Dec (issues 21 - 25) In December 1931 the title has changed to 'The Herald of the Folk'. - Issue no.26 March 1932 - special issue on Trail Tests. - [July] 1932. This issue explains 'The Herald of the Folk' is now being reissued as a magazine for Kinsfolk (this means for adult members of the Woodcraft Folk) and 'The Pioneer of the Folk' has been launched to cater to the Pioneers (children - the age groups which Pioneers and Kinsfolk refer to changed a number of times over the years). - December 1932. - January 1934. - July 1934. - January 1935.
