Description | Scrapbook regarding an appeal run by Amelia Fysh to help the victims of the earthquake at Spitak, Armenia on 7 December 1988. The appeal ran from May-December 1989 and sought to raise money to provide clothes, shoes, toys and other necessities. It began after Amelia wrote a letter to 'The Friend', a Quaker publication, having attended a seminar held at the Tavistock Clinic to discuss the work of rehabilitation in Armenia. In December 1989 Amelia travelled to the country to deliver the items and visit children in schools and hospitals.
