Description<p>Album titled "Scraps from Nature by E. Duncan", containing sketches, studies for works and watercolours by Edward Duncan RWS (1803โ€“1882). 40 pieces in total, many signed and/or annotated by Duncan, only a few dated. Mostly pictures of a maritime theme, including ships, coastlines, beaches, fishermen and details of ships, people and equipment. Places include the Thames, South Wales, Tobermory, Brighton, Whitby, St Abb's Head, and Skye.</p>
<p>Inscribed on the fly-leaf "Elizabeth Reid 1885". Elizabeth Reid was a relative of E S Pearson's through his grandmother, Lucy Reid.</p>
<p>All the artworks have been stamped with a small backwards 'R' in red ink on the bottom right corner.</p>
