AdminHistoryThe Department of Applied Statistics was formed in 1911 from the merger of the Biometric and Eugenics Laboratories. Karl Pearson was the Head of this department until his retirement in 1933. The department was then split into the Department of Eugenics, headed by R A Fisher, and the Department of Statistics, headed by E S Pearson.
