Description | From 1879, the Council awarded one 'Company's Scholarship' (later known as the Trust Scholarship) in each of the 19 schools. Names of the scholarship winners were to be recorded on an honours board in each school. In 1910 a second scholarship was awarded to schools with more than 350 pupils. From 1918 Exhibition scholarships were awarded for pupils attending advanced courses recognised by the Board of Education which wholly or partially covered school fees, and were discontinued during World War Two. Includes 1) Papers, 1953-1969, regarding amendment to the regulations for Trust scholarships, including a short history of the scholarship. Open. 2)' Lists of pupils awarded first and second Trust scholarships, 1966-1977, and a summary of the destinations of Trust scholars between 1963-1970.
