TitleJunior Heads Committee and Predecessors
Date1934-1989
DescriptionPapers regarding the Junior Heads Committee and the junior schools/heads conferences. The heads of the junior school met occasionally to discuss Trust policy affecting their departments. From 1934 the Trust held conferences for the teaching staff in junior and preparatory departments, which appear to have been organised by the Standing Committee of Head Mistresses. In 1960 it was agreed that the conference would be held every three years. By 1968 a Junior School Conference Committee had been established. In 1969 the Council gave permission for a conference of the junior heads to be held as needed (which later became an annual event). In 1981 the Committee of Heads of Junior Departments was officially constituted to specifically look at the need of the junior schools and arrange the yearly conferences.
