AdminHistoryIn Nov 1974 the Academic Council of the University of London and the Council of the Institute of Education approved proposals by their Joint Committee for the establishment of four Joint Degree Committees to consider proposals for awards under the new degree structure. In 1979 the University Senate decided to terminate validation of courses in the colleges association with the Institute of Education, the final date for registration being Oct 1983 and the final examination being held in summer 1988. As a result of this, the business of the Joint Degree Committees dwindled and they seem to have been wound up in 1980.
