AdminHistory | This committee was established in 1977 to advise on the professional aspects of courses, including their duration, standard and academic supervision and the adequacy of the arrangements of the institutions providing them for recommending suitability for the teaching profession. It was composed of eleven representatives of the Awarding Body, including the Chairmen of the Joint Committee of the Academic Council and the Institute of Education, the Board of Educational Studies, the Committee of Principals; two representatives of the Council; three representatives of the Academic Board; nominees of the Director of the Institute, the Principal of King's College and the Principal of Chelsea College. It also included nine representatives of teachers' employers, mainly nominated by the Conference of Local Education Authorities, eleven practising teachers and two observers from the Department of Education and Science. |
