AdminHistory | As membership of the Central Academic Board grew and an increasing amount of business was delegated to its sub-committees, the Policy Advisory Committee was formed in 1969 in order to make proposals to the Central Academic Board about priorities in the areas of work covered by its sub-committees; to link the Central Academic Board with the Committee of Management; and to advise the Director and Dean on academic and financial matters. It was composed of the Director, the Dean, the Heads of Teaching Divisions; the Chairmen of the Initial Courses Sub-Committee and the Advanced Courses Sub-Committee; eight elected members of the Central Academic Board; a representative of research staff and a student representative. In 1983 it was replaced by the Academic Policy Committee (catalogued at IE/2/APC), which in turn was replaced by the Senate in 1987. |
