| AdminHistory | The department provided teaching, research and consultancy in the social sciences as applied to education, health and social policy. Its work was organised into five specialist groups: Centre for Higher Education Studies; Management Development Centre; Post Sixteen Education Centre (which included Research in Eduation in Southern Africa (RESA) from 1992); Social Science Research Unit; and Sociology, Rights and Economics (which included the Health and Education Research Unit (HERU)). The centres provided teaching and housed major research projects funded by research councils, charities and government agencies. |
