AdminHistoryThe Centre was a cross-departmental unit at the Institute devoted to the comparative and international study of qualifications and assessment. Its advisory group was drawn from academic institutions, government, examination boards and international agencies. ICRA's main areas of work reflected the concerns of policymakers, educators and social scientists and specifically included: the measurement of achievement in education and training; the organisation and monitoring of assessment systems; the impact of qualification and assessment systems on the quality of students' learning; and the interaction between socio-economic conditions and assessment systems.
