AdminHistory | Charles Kay Ogden (1889-1957), linguistic psychologist and originator of Basic English, had a longstanding interest in Bentham, arising from the latter's work on linguistics. He published several articles on Bentham for the journal 'Psyche' (of which he was editor), edited Bentham's 'Theory of Legislation' (1931) and 'Theory of Fictions' (1932), and gave and published the Bentham centenary lecture, 'Jeremy Bentham, 1832-2032' (1932). Ogden established the Orthological Institute in 1927, which appears as his address in much of this correspondence. |
