TitleBiblical Commentary [Fragment]
Date13th Century?
DescriptionTwo double leaves, parchment, from the same text. Original work not known, possibly a biblical commentary or other theological text. The second leaf (f.3r) is headed "RE", possibly suggesting commentary on the Book of Revelation. Main body text is a brown Gothic rotunda with red rubrics and red and blue decorated initials. Original line rulings and prick marks are visible on all folios.

Extensive damage, particularly to the outside of both bifolia. The top of f.1&2 has been cut and the top lines of text are missing. The edges of all folios are torn and creased. Two large tears across f.3&4 obscure the text and these folios also suffer from creases and planar distortion as well as accretions of paper and glue. Folios 1&2 are in better condition but also suffer from creasing, stains and pest holes.
The outsides of both bifola (i.e. f.1r, f.2v, f.3r, f.4v) have been painted with a chemical which has stained the parchment orange/brown. The main body text is completely illegible except for the top few lines of text. The coloured initials and rubrics are still visible.
