TitleMissal [Fragment]
Date13th Century?
DescriptionFragments of a missal, on parchment. Was a bifolium but has been cut through the central margin. The text is damaged by water and paste which affects legibility, but there is a lesson which begins on folio 1 verso with John 20:24 and continues to the end of John 20:29 on f.2r, followed by the offertorium, the secreta, communio and post communio. The text is in a low grade Gothic bookhand, heavily abbreviated.
"PPPP" is inscribed in the central margin across both pieces, which would have formed the spine when the fragment was used for binding.
Main body text in black in two columns, original line rulings and prick marks visible in places. Red and blue paragraph marks, red highlights, red and blue initial letters and red rubrics. Responses in a slightly smaller hand.
Extent1 bifolium, in 2 pieces
