TitleMissal [Fragment]
Date14th Century?
DescriptionLeaf from a liturgical text, probably a missal, parchment. Main body text in a single column in black ink with red rubrics, alternating red and blue capitals and red highlights. The text is for the Wednesday and Thursday in the 1st week of Advent. On the recto there is a lesson from Isaiah 2:4-11 and two antiphons, "Erumpant montes iucunditatem" and "De syon exibit lex et verbum". The word 'domini' has been inserted at line 8. On the verso there is a lesson from Isaiah 2:11-22 and John 1:27, with the antiphons "Veniet fortior me post me" and "Expectato dominum salvatorem". The word 'me' has been inserted at line 21. The next word of the following page, "meum", has been noted in the bottom right corner of the verso. The insertions were probably made by the original scribe.
There are two annotations on the verso in a later hand, indicating the texts from Isaiah 2 and John 1
