DescriptionLeaf from a missal, parchment. Main body text in dark brown in a Gothic script in two columns with red rubrics, red highlights and alternating red and green capitals. The text is for the Octave Day of Easter and the second Sunday after Easter. The leaf has been cut across the bottom and there is a line of text missing from both columns.
On the recto there is a reading from John, the Secret "Suscipe quesumus domine munera exultatis ecclesie" and abbreviated prompts for the Eucharist, including the text of the chant "Mitte manum tuam et cognosce". On the recto there are readings from 1 Peter 2:21-25 and John 10:11-16. There is also the Offertory, "Deus deus deus ad te de luce vigilo et in nomine tuo", the Secret "Benedictionem nobis domine" and Communion "Ego sum pastor bonus".
There is a page identifier, "xl", at the top of the recto but no annotations. There are some marks in the right-hand margin on the verso that may be where an annotation was erased.
