TitleBible [Fragments]
Date14th Century?
DescriptionTwo and a half leaves from a bible, parchment. Main body text in a black Gothic book hand in two columns with red and blue decorated capitals and rubrics. The text is from Leviticus.
Folio 1 is a whole leaf that has been cut along all sides with a small portion of text lost from the right-hand side. A small square of paper with the identifier "II" has been pasted to the bottom-right corner of the verso. The text on the recto is Leviticus 9:15-24 and 10:1-12. This continues onto the verso with Leviticus 10:12-20 and 11:1-20.
Folio 2 is a leaf that has been cut in half, there is only one column of text and some of this is missing from the right-hand side. There is a paper square with the identifier "IV" in the bottom-right corner of the recto. The text on folio 2 continues from folio 1, indicating that f.1 and f.2 were part of a bifolium. On the recto is Leviticus 11:20-32 and on the verso is Leviticus 12:8 and 13:1-12. There is correction at line 5 on the recto.
Folio 3 is not consecutive from f.2. The text on the recto is Leviticus 16:27-34 and 17:1-13, and on the verso is Leviticus 17:13-16 and 18:11-23. The rubric indicating the start of chapter 17 on the recto is incorrect, as it is "XIII" instead of XVII. The rubric for chapter 18 on the verso has been corrected. There is a faint pencil annotation in the right-hand margin on the recto, and a square of paper with the identifier "III" in the bottom-right corner of the recto.
