Description | Fragment of a leaf from a missal, parchment. This fragment has been folded horizontally into four sections with result that the parchment has been weakened along the fold lines. The top and bottom sections have been repaired, probably in the 1920s. The top half of the leaf is missing.Text in black in a single column. With red and blue decorated capitals and red rubrics. The text is for the 15th Sunday after Pentecost. On the recto is the introit and psalm "Inclina domine aurem tuam". The collect is "Ecclesiam tuam domine miseratio...". This is followed by a reading from Ephesians 3:13-18. On the verso there is the end of a reading from Matthew 6:27-33, which is followed by the offertory, the first line of which is obscured by a repair but which reads, "Expectans expectavi dominum et respexit me et exaudivit deprecationem meam et immisit in os meum canticum novum hymnum deo nostro". The imprint of additional text can be seen at the top of the left-hand margin, probably transferred from another manuscript. |
