DescriptionTwo double leaves (bifolia), parchment, from Liber de Octo Partibus Orationis, part of Donatus' Ars Grammatica, specifically Ars Minor. These bifolia are both from the same manuscript but are not consecutive. Main body text in black in with initials and paragraph marks in red, plus small capitals with red highlights. Folio 1r has a historiated inital letter P, coloured red with line drawings of faces. Main text is written in a litera gothica quadrata textualis; also various marginal annotations and pen trials in later hands, possibly 15th and 16th centuries.
Folio 1r begins "Partes or[ati]onis quot sunt Octo. Qu[a]e Nomen. Pronomen. Verbum. Adverbium. Participium. Co[njunctio]. P[raepo]sitio. Interiectio. Nomen quid est...". The second bifolium, or f.3r, begins "P[r]a[eteri]to imp[erfe]cto cu[m] legerer [legereris vel legerere le]geretur et pl[uralite]r cu[m] legerem[ur] legerem[ini] legerent[ur]..."
