TitleAntiphonal [Fragment]
Date15th Century?
DescriptionLeaf from an antiphonal, parchment. Text in a Gothic book hand with musical notation in a Bohemian rhomboid style, possibly originating in Prague. Music is on a 4-line stave ruled in red with C marked. Text in black with red and blue capitals, black decorated capitals, red highlights and rubrics. Two of the black capitals are decorated with faces.
The antiphons are for the 4th day after Easter (recto), 5th day after Easter (recto and verso) and Ascension (verso).
There are some numbers in pencil at the top of the verso. Also on the verso at the end of the 4th line there is an annotation in ink in a later hand to the main text which has been crossed out. The same hand appears to have added numbers above the music in various places on both sides.
