DescriptionLeaf from an antiphonal, parchment. Text is a Gothic rotunda in black ink with red rubrics, which have faded. There is a large decorative initial 'E' on the verso in green. Music in a square modal notation on a 4-line stave ruled in red with C, D and F marked at various points.
The recto has text for the feast of John the Evangelist (27 December), beginning "Jocunditatem et exultationem thesaurizavit", followed by "Exiit sermo inter fratres", and "Hic est discipulus ill qui testimonium". The verso continues with "Justus ut palma florebit" and "Exiit sermo inter fratres" again. A rubric marks the start of the chants for the Holy Innocents (28 December) which begins with "Ex ore infantium deus lactentium".
There is an annotation "CXII" in pencil at the top of the recto and "CVII" in ink in the left margin on the verso
