Description | Parchment leaf, probably from a missal, cut to about 1/3 of its original size. The liturgical text on this fragment is from the Second Book of Kings, featuring the widow visiting the prophet Elisha. There is a Gregorian chant on f.1r which is based on verses from Psalm 65, "Benedicite gentes dominum deum nostrum...". Main body text in black ink written in two columns, with musical notation in germanic neumes for the chant. Red initials and the remains of a red rubric visible on the recto. There are numbers written in pencil in the central margin at the top of the fragment, possibly a 20th century annotation. Verso is virtually illegible. |
