Description	Manuscript volume, 17th century, containing a collection of treatises on mathematical and astronomical subjects, including some diagrams, comprising: (1) Compendio della Sfera (2) Compendio della Triangoli Sferici 3) Problemata XIII (4) Teoriche di pianeti di Giacinto Benedetti (di. Popoli 1675) dedicato a Giac. Cantelmo. A catalogue cutting suggests that the some texts are in the handwriting of Cavalieri.

AdminHistory	(Francesco) Bonaventura Cavalieri: born in Milan, 1598; mathematician who made developments in geometry which precursored integral calculus; died in Bologna, 1647.
CustodialHistory	The manuscript formed part of the library of John Thomas Graves (1806-1870), mathematician and Professor of Jurisprudence at University College London, whose collection included manuscripts dating from the 15th to the 19th century, relating mainly to mathematics. Formerly Graves 5537.
Acquisition	Graves' library was bequeathed to University College London in 1870.
