Description'Hazkarat Neshamot le-Yom Kipur ule-Shalosh Regalim ke-Minhag k. k. Tshetham she-nadav ha-p. u-m. R. Yehudah b. R. Shimon n.y.'. Memorial service for the Day of Atonement and Pilgrim Festivals, according to the rite of Chatham. Hebrew date on title page: 5587 [1826 or 1827]. Title page states 'a.y. Shelomoh [undeciphered]': probably the name of the scribe. Includes the blessings and prayers before and after the Haftarah reading. In the prayer for the royal family, the names of King William IV and Queen Adelaide are written on a slip of paper which has been pasted over the text, presumably containing the name of the previous monarch.

AdminHistoryA Jewish congregation was founded in Chatham about 1740 and a synagogue about 1760. A new place of worship, the Magnus Memorial Synagogue, was consecrated in 1870.
