AdminHistoryFounded in 1893 in the wake of the Anglo-Jewish Historical Exhibition of 1887; its first President was Lucien Wolf; since its inception it has sponsored lectures on aspects of Anglo-Jewish history; currently has about a dozen branches outside London; publications include the 'Transactions of the Jewish Historical Society of England', (renamed 'Jewish Historical Studies' in 2000) and a number of miscellaneous volumes of primary material.
