Primarily a recipe (receipt) book, it is titled "Medicynes for the heade, for the eares, for the eyes, etc", with the signature Joseph Carlton, possibly the author, three times on the front free endpaper. The recipes are arranged according to the part of the body for which they were to be used. Includes a table of headings, several of which in fact have no entries under them.
