DescriptionCommonplace book compiled by Sir William Drake. Several extracts from manuscripts, some of them lent by 'Stratton' and one by a 'Mr Stansby'. Includes notes on treason, English law and the Court of Exchequer. Also 'Notes taken from a Treatise collected by my grandfather for the Lord Chancelor Williams of the Course and proceedings of the Chancery'. [This is William Tothill, "Transactions of the high court of chancery", 1649, but William Drake is very likely to have had a mss]. Various other notes on the characters of kings and princes and the behaviour of men.
