Draft manuscript of an apparently unpublished work on the history of the National Hospital by Godfrey Hamiton. Hamilton states in an introductory note that he been asked to write the book at the behest of the Board of Management. The contents of the work are listed as: 'Victorian Background'; 'Old Masters'; 'Hospital History I'; 'Food'; 'Others People's Money'; 'Hospital History II'; 'The War 1914-1918'; 'Some Remembered Patients'; 'Other "National" Notables and Some Hospital Stories'; 'A Hospital Neighbourhood'; and 'National Hospital. List of Honorary Staff'. This is followed by a list of illustrations.
