Description<p>Letters to Pearson, primarily from Amy Barrington, regarding data collection for Pearson's inquiry into the inheritance of coat colour in horses, with particular regards to chestnut horses. Barrington discusses her compilation of data from various stud books; completing schedules; and collecting horse hair samples.</p>
<p>Other letters come from horse breeders and owners, regarding the completion of schedules and providing horse hair samples. Plus one letter from W F R Weldon regarding the photographing of shells.</p>
<p>Accompanying the letters is a sale catalogue for pedigree Hackney's and carriage horses owned by Joseph Morton.</p>
