Description<p>Papers and correspondence concerning the finances and early management of the Galton Laboratory for National Eugenics.</p>

<p>Consists primarily of letters and memoranda from Sir Philip Joseph Hartog, Academic Registrar, to Karl Pearson, regarding:</p>
<li>Administration of the Galton bequest.</li>
<li>The scheme of management for the Galton Laboratory, including letters, minutes and reports concerning the role of the Galton Committee.</li>
<li>Income and expenditure for the Galton Laboratory, including enclosed minutes and accounts.</li>
<li>Galton Laboratory architectural plans, equipment provision, and plans for a proposed animal house.</li>
<br></br>
<p>Also included are letters from Thomas Gregory Fisher, University Provost; Frederick Moore Simpson, Architect; and Edward Galton Wheler-Galton; plus carbon copies of some of Pearson's replies. Enclosed with the letters are accounts, minutes, committee reports and draft architectural plans.</p>
