| Description | Consists of manuscript by Karl Pearson of lecture delived in 1892 entitled "Laws of Chance (Introductory, definitions and fundamental conceptions)". Also introductory page by Egon Pearson. Karl Pearson was lecturer in Geometry at Gresham College between 1891-1894. His first course, "The scope and concepts of modern science", began on 3 Mar 1891 and much of the material was published in <i>Grammar of Science</i>. "The Laws of Chance" was another set of lectures delivered on 1 Nov 1892 and was the first series devoted to the theory of probability. |
