Description | Correspondence with Barry Richards. The correspondence from 1949-1954 concerns the attitude of the psychiatric profession to learning difficulties, Richards' interest in microencephaly, and patient case notes.
Correspondence from 1966 onwards primarily concerns the Journal of Mental Deficiency Research under Richards' editorship, including discussion over ownership and reprint costs, and over switching publication to Blackwell Scientific Publishing. Several letters were exchanged between Penrose and Richards whilst commenting on papers submitted to the Journal, part drafts of which are sometimes enclosed, alongside various statistical tables and diagrams. |
