Description	Comprises papers and notes collected and collated by Simon during his research for the last volume in his four volume history of education. Some files relating to Sim's visits to the Soviet Union and Australia have been moved to SIM/6/1 and SIM/6/3.

Arrangement	Simon organised his files and created an index which has been catalogued as SIM/4/4/17. Unfortunately the numbers of these files have not been recorded on every file. Where the numbers were recorded by Simon they have been noted in the AltRefNo field. Simon also appears to have had a separate numbering system. These references possibly relate to specific sections in the final book. These references, where they survive, have been noted in the AltRefNo2 field. This sub-series was originally listed and sorted by Don Jones in 2005. All of Don Jones' references have been retained.
