Duncan", containing sketches, studies for works and watercolours by Edward Duncan RWS (1803–1882). 40 pieces in total, many signed and/or annotated by Duncan, only a few dated. Mostly pictures of a maritime theme, including ships, coastlines, beaches, fishermen and details of ships, people and equipment. Places include the Thames, South Wales, Tobermory, Brighton, Whitby, St Abb's Head, and Skye.
Inscribed on the fly-leaf "Elizabeth Reid 1885". Elizabeth Reid was a relative of E S Pearson's through his grandmother, Lucy Reid.
All the artworks have been stamped with a small backwards 'R' in red ink on the bottom right corner.</dc:description>
