  <dc:title>Calendar Customs</dc:title>
<dc:description>Bundles of notes compiled when researching the British Calendar Customs publications, which were a revision and extension of "The Popular Antiquities of Great Britain" by Brand and Ellis (1777). The 'Brand Committee' was established in 1911 to carry out this work; the original members were Henry B Weatley, Charlotte S Burne, A R Wright and Mary Macleod Banks. Also notes used for later revisions by A R Wright, T E Jones and M Macleod Banks in 1939 + 1942. The notes are all manuscript and appear to have come from several sources. Many are annotated "used" or "not used" to indicate whether they were used in the final publications.</dc:description>
