This poem is mentioned in Karl Pearson's book The Life, Letters and Labours of Francis Galton, vol. 1, p.177. The reference appears in the transcription of a letter from Francis Galton to his father dated 5 April 1843, in which Galton mentions that he is sending his father a copy of a poem he has written on the subject of whether man has an innate conscience. Extracts from the poem are transcribed by Pearson.</dc:description>
