Letter dated 09 December: Maturin discusses identical simultaneous illness in twins, cases of mixed-sex twins, the investigations of Sir James Simpson, and the relationship between cousin-marriages and lesions.
Letter dated 07 February: Maturin thanks Galton for providing him with copies of letters and pamphlets, discusses Churchill's theories on the combination of sexes in twins, and encloses a newspaper article about the birth of quadruplets.</dc:description>
