  <dc:title>Hirschfeld, Hartwig and Pauline</dc:title>
<dc:description>Handwritten letters and notes sent to Moses Gaster, mostly in German, from 'H[artwig] Hirschfeld'. The earliest letters were sent from 'Posen' [now Poznań, Poland], but the majority of these letters were sent during Hirschfeld's time teaching at Montefiore College, Ramsgate, alongside Gaster in the 1890s. This file includes a small number of press cuttings regarding the College and signed witness statements from Hartwig Hirschfeld and his wife Pauline Hirschfeld, as enclosures with the letters. The later letters include a small number of letters to Gaster from Pauline Hirschfeld. One letter sent from the Hirschfeld address in London signed is 'Beatrice' [Hirschfeld?]
