Registers of Probates of Wills and Letters of Administration Registers recording transfers of shares on the death of the shareholder and other legal papers. Generally the volumes record name of share holder, date of registration, date of will probate or letters of administration, names and addresses of executors or administrators. Also includes number referring to entry in the share ledgers. The volumes are annotated with later changes; therefore the cover dates are taken to be the date of the first entry until the approximate date of the last annotation. All the volumes are indexed, though in the first two volumes the index is split between the front and back of the volume. Some entries also include a reference number referring to the entry in the share ledgers. The entries are also annotated with later transfers and other alterations to the original shares. Therefore the covering dates of each volume relate to the first entry in the volume to approximately the last date of any annotations. 1878-1941
