  <dc:description>Material relating to the training courses for Additional Inspectors (AI) involved in "Secondary Subject Inspections" (SSI) of providers of initial training for specialist teachers of IT.

Folder 1: Materials and tasks used on a training course in September 1997 for IT specialist AIs who had already attended a general training course in Blackpool for AIs from many subject areas on how to conduct SSI, and complete forms. This 1.5-day course, based at Alexandra House, was addressed to potential AIs with very little experience of initial teacher training and a strong background in IT or computing. Also included is an evaluation of the outcomes of this course, held in Alexandra House, by HMI Gabriel Goldstein.   

Folder 2: 
Training course held in October 1988 based on the TTA's regulations, and HMI working instructions (see GG/10/8) for SSI, this course programme reviews IT training reported so far, and offers inspector training in various areas.</dc:description>
