  <dc:description>Volume contains:
'Bourgeoisie' (patent of citizenship) of Geneva, granted to Claude Lagier, 'dit de La Motte', 11 December 1694.
Entries by John Lagier La Motte, senior, recording his marriage in London to Louise, daughter of Captain James d'Albiac, in February 1734/5; the births of his twelve children, 1736-1749 (with names of godparents), and the deaths of five; also the marriage in 1756 of his eldest daughter Louise to Benjamin Franois Houssemayne Duboulay (minister of the French Church of Threadneedle Street in London from 1761, died 1765) and particulars of their five children. Another hand, possibly John Lamotte senior's son, has added notes on the death of John Lamotte senior and his wife (both 1792) and their daughter Catherine (1797).
A note dated 1879 by 'T', apparently Charles Stuart Aubrey, 3rd Lord Tenterden, on the La Motte family and his descent from it.
