Election book for admissions; and applicants for external assistance. Lists, from 27 July 1751, of men and women nominated for admission to the Hospital, giving their ages. Votes are recorded (for the Directors) against each name, and usually a note 'admis' or 'admise' against the candidate who has the most. There are a few brief notes. The book, however, had been started, and pages 1-17 used from January 1741/2 to March 1748/9, as a register of married male applicants for external assistance. Information on these includes age, state of health, name of wife, sometimes occupation, birthplace, and name of person recommending; occasionally other details of the family. 1741-1824
